ToysRUs SkyLanders Trap Team preorder fiasco…
A lot of us SkyLanders Collectors preordered SkyLanders Trap
Team from ToysRUs because of the card promotion “Legendary Treasure Everyone Is
A Winner”, where the card went on to say “Instantly Win Free SkyLanders toys
and accessories! Plus a chance to win a ToysRUs Shopping Spree and More!”
Well this is our experience…
So we ordered 6 of the games, yeah we’re crazy like that.
We received only 3 boxes that had the Pre Order Bonus
Legendary Treasure Card inside, 1 Xbox 360 Starter Pack, and 2 3DS Starter
Packs.
How do you know if you (like we did) got screwed out of your
Pre Order Bonus? Look and see if your Starter
Pack box has the Pre Order Bonus Legendary Treasure Card inside? Look for a Yellow Circle Sticker saying “Legendary
Treasure Everyone Is A Winner. Instantly Win Free SkyLanders toys and
accessories!” If your Starter Pack has
that Sticker, you have your Pre Order Bonus Legendary Treasure Card inside.
No Dark Starter Packs had a Pre Order Bonus Legendary
Treasure Card.
What exactly is the Pre Order Bonus Legendary Treasure Card?
Basically it’s a ToysRUs coupon for “One FREE SkyLanders
Swap Force single character regularly prices $16.99. Valid 10/5 – 11/15/14.” That’s right, SWAP FORCE character, not TRAP
TEAM.
We contacted ToysRUs online, they had no clue about the
promo and pointed us to the store. We went
into the store and they had no clue about the promo and pointed us to the
Online. Here’s where things get
fun. The SKUs, BarCodes, etc are
different between the same versions of the game, meaning a 3DS Starter Pack
WITH the Sticker has a different SKU than a 3DS Starter Pack WITHOUT the
sticker, (same goes for Xbox 360, etc), ultimately meaning the employees can’t
even swap out the Non Stickered for a Stickered Starter Pack (with the Pre
Order Bonus Legendary Treasure Card).
