SkyLanders Trap Team details

 
Plot:
In his never ending quest to rule SkyLands, Kaos devises a plan that entails freeing the most dangerous criminals of SkyLands from Cloudcracker Prison.  After blowing up the Prison, shards of Traptanium, the substance that the Prison, Traps, and Trap Masters’ Weapons were made of, rain down upon our dimension, Earth, as well as frozen Trap Masters.  It is up to the Portal Masters to find the new Trap Team and their Traps, capture the evil, and release the good.


New Game details:
-New Trap Master zones, which allows access to trappable, convertible enemies.
-60+ SkyLanders figures will be released over time, encompassing the new Trap Masters as well as Core SkyLanders, no word on if LightCore, Giants, or Swappers will return.
-As always, all previous SkyLanders are able to play in the new game, and repose figures can play in the game they were first introduced, (ex. Reposed Spyro series 4 can be played on the first game).
-Level Cap is still 20, from the previous game, Swap Force, the Level Cap will not be raised as in previous games.
-New jumping attack ability; after much feedback, the designers added the ability to attack while jumping.
-The new Trap Team, comprised of the Trap Masters, will all have Traptanium crystal-like weapons.
-US launch is October 05, 2014 for $75 retail.
-Red base is the new color for this game.
-No Swap Force zones.
-No Giant zones.


Trapping details:
-In order to trap a Life Element baddie (ex. Chompy Mage), the Portal Master will place a Life Element Trap Crystal into the new Traptanium Portal of Power after the PM and the SkyLanders defeat the exuberant Chompy Mage; a vortex will appear in game and suck up the enemy, transferring him kicking and screaming from the game world into the real world inside of the Trap Crystal, thus bringing life to toys.
-Trapped enemies will also be stored in a game prison hub, so Portal Masters do not need 40+ different Trap Crystals, PMs can rotate between the desired reformed bad guy.
-Trap Crystals will comprise the 8 Elements: Air, Life, Undead, Earth, Fire, Water, Magic, Tech.
-40+ different enemy types can be trapped and turned into playable characters.
-Trapped enemies can level up to Level 20.


New Traptanium Portal of Power details:
-Speaker(s) allowing bad guy commentary during gameplay.
-Trap with golden door to store additional Traptanium Crystal Traps.
-Traptanium Crystal Trap slot adding the ability to capture baddies and reform them into good guy

According to the SkyLanders Trap Team reveal video, the carved wooden box holds 15 Traptanium Trap Crystals.
